Overview
Just 90 kilometres from Nairobi, this day tour combines two of Kenya's most distinctive experiences into a single unforgettable outing. Hell's Gate National Park was established in 1984 and takes its name from a break in the cliffs once carved by a prehistoric outlet of Lake Naivasha. It is one of the few parks in Kenya where you walk or cycle among wildlife freely, moving through dramatic gorges carved by geothermal activity and past towering Fischer's Tower, a volcanic plug rising over 25 metres from the valley floor. After the game drive you transfer to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride across to Crescent Island, a private wildlife sanctuary set on a sunken volcanic crater rim. Here you walk beside giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, waterbuck, Thomson's gazelles, and hippos in the shallows, with no barriers between you and the animals. It is slow, intimate, and genuinely extraordinary.

Departures are early morning, typically between 6:30 and 7:00 am, and the tour runs for approximately 12 hours, returning to Nairobi by early evening. Pickup available from Nairobi and Surrounding neighbourhoods
Entry fees for Hell's Gate National Park, the Lake Naivasha boat ride, and Crescent Island are not included in the tour price and are payable on the day.
Hell's Gate is home to zebras, buffaloes, elands, klipspringers, baboons, and diverse raptors including Verreaux's eagles. Crescent Island adds giraffes, wildebeest, waterbuck, Thomson's gazelles, and hippos in the lake shallows.
